1. Which IP Cameras do you support? Do my clients have to buy IP camera from you?

No, you do not need to buy IP camera from us, as a reseller, you can bundle our solution together with your IP cameras. We provide Cloud Surveillance Solution that works with IP/web cameras with built-in FTP features and a functioning MJPEG stream URL.

Check out our sister company for IP cameras if you do not carry any IP camera yourself.

2. Which webcams do you support? Do my clients have to buy webcam from you?
EpiCamera works with all USB webcams (such as Logitech, Creative, Microsoft, Swann, etc) as well as most webcams integrated into netbooks and notebooks. And no, we do not sell any camera, we merely provide Cloud Surveillance Solution that works with IP/web cameras with built-in FTP features and a functioning MJPEG stream URL.
3. Do my clients need a webcam with motion detection? Should I recommend them to buy one of those nice glass-optics auto-rotating webcams?
Motion detection is built into the software downloadable at Know-How>>Download and should work with most webcams. Thus your clients do not need to purchase a "motion detection webcam". Also, webcams that rotate to track people will result in false motion detection and are not advisable for use with EpiCamera. For better results, we recommend to get a IP camera instead of using webcam.
4. Do you support CCTV cameras / "security cameras"?
Of course yes! As long as they have built-in FTP features and a functioning MJPEG stream URL. Any doubt you can always email to us at support@epicamera.com.
5. Does EpiCamera work on a Mac?
If your clients are using IP camera, yes it is definitely no problem to use EpiCamera on a Mac. But if they are using web camera, unfortunately the current software to convert web camera to IP camera is only for Window XP, Vista and 7. We are still in the midst of working on the software for webcam used on a MAC.
6. Why can't I see live / real-time / streaming video?
Until present, EpiCamera is providing Cloud Surveillance Solution by capturing images that based on your camera setting. If you set it 2-3 frames per second, it will serve as a "video" and it is unlikely for you to miss movements. The latest captured image is always "live", unless there is internet connection problem that cannot be guaranteed by EpiCamera.
